how add translation .po files
  • Hello.

How can i install/add translation files downloaded from launchpad ? Or where I must copy files to display tango cms in my language (polish) ?

    Regards
  • Hi,

While the framework has support for different locales, we currently don't support changing the language used within TangoCMS - and the translations that you'd download will be very incomplete and most likely wont work. After the release of 2.4.0 we shall get a guide up on how to change the language, however for now it is not quite possible.
  • Hello !Alexc .
I want to know would the 2.4 version support multilanguage ? And when the V2.4 would be realesed?
I think the TangoCMS is very great , but i'm a chinese , I want to translat it into chinese ,but I found it not easy.
  • Yes, there is a high chance it will. 2.4.0 is expected to be released within 2 weeks.
  • Oh , I will wait the 2.4.0
  • So... I installed the 2.4 and do not find where to choose the language. Is it still for the next release or did I miss something ?
By the way, that would help me improving the french translation (I did some on Launchpad, but it's sometime easier to look at the translation in the right context).

  • Unfortunately we didn't get chance to sort the final pieces out to change the language. We're hoping for 2.6 now (2.5 is going to be a small release out by the end of this month).

Sorry if this has caused any problems.
  • Alex,
Have you put this "panel" i18n changes in a branch at Github ? I'm brazilian, so I could translate Tango for Brazilian Portuguese =D
I don't know if you remember, but I'd like to develop a module for content i18n :)

    Regards,
  • We currently translate the German language file at: https://translations.launchpad.net/tangocms/trunk/+lang/de
Who have some time for that, please help us to finished this work. It is quite easy to do that.
    Thanks!

  • I also started to translate into German now because it's very important to me since you don't seem to be able to edit all texts from the frontend/web site. The backend/adminCP wouldn't be the problem, but when parts of the website are English as well, it might look strange to my visitors.

But here also some information for the other German translators:

    Gruß,
    Andreas
